ENGLISH 19 FOREWORD Dear Sir or Madam, Dear Readers of the 2023 Surgical Guide, In this new edition, about 200 manufacturers and trading companies as well as service providers and suppliers of medical technology are once again presenting their diverse products and expert services. Of course, you can also browse through this surgical guide virtually on our homepage, but the printed book is and will be irreplaceable. It is always at hand, whether at a trade fair or on your desk. It serves you reliably as a means of finding new or alternative sources of supply or, of course, as a source of information on your existing contacts. In recent months we have been pleased to note that the restrictions brought about by the pandemic have largely disappeared again. We are once again able to personally welcome and advise more international visitors in Tuttlingen, and the numbers of exhibitors and visitors at the trade fairs have almost returned to the same level as before the pandemic. But the consequences of the terrible war in Ukraine are unfortunately presenting us with new challenges again. On the one hand, prices are skyrocketing in many areas, but especially for energy. On the other hand, there are also problems with the procurement of materials, caused by, among other things, interrupted supply chains. Many suppliers are particularly affected by this crisis, for example mechanical engineering or energy-intensive service providers, who are of course indispensable partners of medical technology manufacturers. Regular, trusting communication between you, dear reader, and the manufacturing and trading companies is therefore more important than ever.
