ENGLISH 19 FOREWORD Dear Sir or Madam, Dear Readers of the 2024 Surgical Guide, In this new edition, about 200 manufacturers and trading companies as well as service providers and suppliers of medical technology are once again presenting their diverse products and expert services. The combination of our surgical guide with our permanent medical technology exhibition in Tuttlingen offers you, dear reader, an enormously efficient instrument for opening up new or alternative sources of supply for your purchases. And of course you can also virtually use both – surgical guide and exhibition – via our comprehensive homepage www.acig.de. We have been exhibiting at MEDICA in Düsseldorf for over thirty years, and for about 25 years we have organised a joint stand there, making it possible for small and medium-sized companies with smaller trade-fair budgets to participate. This option has always been in great demand, and in the past we were often unable to cope with the great demand for stand space and even had to turn down interested parties with great regret. In recent years, however, demand has been continually decreasing, so that we have had to reduce our stand space each exhibition year. Feedback from exhibitors clearly shows that our stand and service concept are by no means the cause of this. The problem is rather the constant and sometimes very questionable price increases with simultaneously declining visitor numbers and services, meaning that this fair has become increasingly unattractive, especially for smaller companies. The Messe Düsseldorf company should urgently rethink its strategy. In the meantime, many are of the opinion that Arab Health in Dubai is the new world’s leading trade fair for medical technology and has thus overtaken MEDICA. But of course we are again very happy about your visit to Düsseldorf – our stand is once more in hall 10 and our stand number is D 04.
